Rubén Garcia Arabit is a professional dancer, massage-therapist, teacher, and DJ based in Rotterdam. He started dancing as a small kid and has since built a wonderful career on stage. He studied at the Fontys School for Performing Arts, and worked with a.o. Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Felix Landerer & Co and OFF-projects / Amos Ben-Tal. Since 2016, he has been developing his own creations in collaboration with other artists.
It was as a freelancer that Rubén discovered Contact Improvisation, falling in love with its researching mind and a fantastic way to move and experience his own body in relation to others. He felt connected to the idea that performance is the result of a curious and playful mind, and through this practice he found he could sink deeper into his own body, making movement and connection more available to him. He now enjoys sharing ideas and research topics that he hopes will spark this same state of mind in others.
