Mariona Vinyes Ràfols is a Catalan artist currently based in Rotterdam. In 2022, she graduated from the BA Dancer/Maker program at ArtEZ University of the Arts in the Netherlands, and has since been developing her own work in collaboration with other artists across various interdisciplinary projects. Teaching has become an important part of Mariona’s practice, where she seeks to create spaces of curiosity, honesty, and shared discovery.
Her classes and workshops, which include floorwork, partnering, contact improvisation, and pilates, combine technical awareness with imagination, encouraging participants to explore different physical existences and trust their own bodies’ intelligence. She adapts her teaching to the group and the environment, grounding her approach in clarity, respect, and a playful sense of care.
Devotion to the work and commitment to the body are essential to how Mariona approaches her practice, shaped by curiosity, enthusiasm, respect, and honest smiles. Through her work and various collaborations, she seeks different physical existences and vocabularies that provoke new thoughts and images, continuing to define her creative language alongside people who inspire and creatively challenge her.
