Oliver discovered Contact Improvisation in Budapest, Hungary, in 2019, and has been part of a collective of Contact Improvisation Amsterdam teachers since 2023. From the beginning, they were amazed by the endless creative potential of the practice, by realizing what bodies are able to do together in space. Dancing with the impossibility of escaping gravity, playing with risk, falling and failing, the wild, soft, and queer aspects of CI have kept their curiosity alive to this day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oliver sources their research in the early performances of Contact Improvisation made in the US, when the form was first developed. Dancers including Anya Cloud, Lily Kiara (Skinner Releasing Technique\u00ae), Charlie Morrisey, Karen Nelson, Makisig Akin, Nita Little, and Gr\u00e9gory Chevalier, among others, have shaped their dance practice since the beginning, and Oliver remains endlessly grateful for these encounters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oliver is a regular teacher at the Saturday workshop- and jam in Zaal 100, Amsterdam.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oliver Artur (he\/they) is a queer transgender movement researcher based in Amsterdam.
